Mclaren P1 LM

McLaren Special Operations built the 375 P1s with 904hp hybrid drivetrains and went on to build 40 P1 GTRs which are track-special variants offered only to those who already owned a P1 that featured a larger fixed wing and a bump in power. If that wasn't enough they put together 6 track days at F1 tracks around the world with a full crew, training, hotel and dining all taken care of. However, there may be a few customers that have a different idea for where they would like to take the GTRs and that is where Lanzante Motorsport comes in to the picture.

For those customers interested in taking one of the GTRs on the street Lanzante can retrofit their cars to be road legal. Among the various modifications to make the car road legal, the most important is making sure the twin-turbo hybrid powertrain can run on standard 99 octane pump gas while still maintaining its power output of 1,000hp. They went on implement a weight reduction package by ditching the GTRs air-jacking system, fitting polycarbonate windows, refabricating the exhaust and cat out of ultra lightweight inconel and even insulated the engine bay in gold leaf as a homage to the original F1. In total they saved 130lbs when compared to the P1 GTR and 110lbs under the standard P1. A new rolling stock, interior trimmed in alcantara and exposed carbon as well as a unique steering wheel which takes its cues from the McLaren MP4/23 that Lewis Hamilton took to the 2008 F1 title. Oh, and they will also fit a reverse light...

In a rather juxtaposed move, Lanzante fitted an even larger rear wing and front splitter giving the car a 40% boost in downforce over the GTR. Upon delivery buyers will get a few nice goodies on the side, specifically a full tool kit, tailored car cover and a 1:8 scale model of your new hypercar. The car went on to be the fastest production vehicle at GoS and post a lap time around the Nurburgring of 6:43.2 driven by 1999 Indy 500 winner and McLaren driver Kenny Brack. Both times have been subject to great scrutiny as the car isn't necessarily a production car which means the Lamborghini SVJ still holds the throne to The Ring at 6:44.97. @car.tales
