THE HUAYRA BC
The Huayra BC is a stiffer, more aggressive version of the Huayra whose purpose is to dethrone the Zonda as Pagani's most coveted supercar; something the standard Huayra failed to do. Thanks to Horacio Pagani's obsession for creating new materials the BC features an entirely new composite material that is 50% lighter and 20% stronger than carbon fiber. Further weight reduction (15lbs to be exact) takes place in the form of a new titanium exhaust and carbon fiber gear synchro's. Total weight loss from the standard BC comes in at 132kg (290lbs) making it 450kg (1,000lbs) lighter than the Porsche 918. The car is also fitted with a bespoke rear wing and front splitter with canards when combined with the original Huayra's active spoilers create nearly 600kg (1,300lbs) of downforce at 186mph.
Pagani's relationship with AMG is alive and well meaning the BC is fitted with an AMG powered 6L twin-turbo V12 that drives 811lb ft of torque and 789hp to the rear wheels propelling the car from 0-60 in just 2.3 seconds. Based on which magazine you read you may have noticed different 0-60 times of the 918 Spyder, to 2/3 the BC is at least 0.1sec faster to 60mph. The BC is the living example of the law of diminishing return being ever so present in today's world of supercars. Unless tire manufacturers develop new compounds that can drastically increase levels of grip more power will not always equate to faster cars.
