The Agera RS1

Koenigsegg Automotive unveiled the Agera RS dubbed ‘RS1’ at the 2017 New York Auto Show on April 23rd. This specific spec was named RS1 by @whitesse and @whitessejr who were intensively involved in the entire specification and building process that includes an Arctic White finish along with highlights of a specially selected shade of blue on the side skirts, diffuser, front winglets, rear wing and interior alcantara with contrasting polished carbon fibre and black anodized aluminum.

The power plant is Koenigsegg's own hand-built twin-turbo 5L V8 that produces 1,360hp and 1,011lbs of torque sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic gearbox. To tame the massive amount of power going to the rear wheels Koenigsegg developed their own traction and stability control systems based off the Agera that utilize the brakes to keep the car planted even while doing a slalom at over 100mph. The systems are so advanced that test driver's have no fear of losing control of a customer's car while braking from 186mph-0 or accelerating at full throttle with their hands completely off the wheel. Along with the stability and traction control systems Koenigsegg has developed a unique elongated front and rear double wishbone suspension, active dampening and aerodynamics.

Amazingly the car weighs in at just 3,075lbs, giving it a power to weight ratio of 1,011hp/ton, by comparison the Chiron comes in at 740hp/ton. This is truly remarkable as the car is not spared of any modern comforts, including A/C, satellite nav, bluetooth, electric seats, fully adjustable pedals, hydraulic lifting system to aid in clearance and a fully digitize infotainment system. It also allows the car to have staggering performance numbers, with 0-62mph completed in just 2.8sec and 0-186mph in just 12.3sec.

Take a look at the video below to see first hand how Koenigsegg's amazing stability control system keep the car inline during multiple real life simulations in the Agera back in 2013.
