The 2018 Jaguar F-Type SV R

Jaguar's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division creates cars that represent the ultimate expression of Jaguar. The latest creation to come from SVO’s state of the art Technical Center is the F‑TYPE SV R, the most powerful F-Type to date. Its 5.0-liter V8 unit’s twin vortex supercharger reduces drag and surge allowing the driver to experience the exceptional performance with very little throttle input. The SV R will take you from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 200 mph. The active aerodynamic carbon fiber rear spoiler is wider, more elevated and gives a drag coefficient reduction of 2.5% and a lift coefficient reduction of 15% aiding in increasing the cars top speed over the standard F-Type that has a top speed of 185hp.

Weight is the number one enemy of performance; so Jaguar designed the SVR to be as lean as possible. Its lightweight Titanium and Inconel exhaust system saves nearly 10lbs, while the striking 20-inch forged alloy wheels provide a 30 lb weight reduction over standard F-TYPE wheels. Each redesigned rear suspension knuckle is lighter than conventional knuckles by 0.50lbs and the optional Carbon Ceramic Matrix Braking system saves 46 lbs of unsprung weight over the standard F-TYPE. Every pound saved of unsprung mass is essential to the increase in performance figures over the standard F-Type R. Unsprung mass reduces the engines ability to transfer its HP and Torque from the crankshaft to the wheels, ultimately thrusting the car forward.
